Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creatively conceptualizes, designs, prototypes and conducts first article inspection of electro-mechanical parts and assemblies use in the Electronic Self-Service Kiosk.
- Ensures hardware designs meet the agreed upon and committed product requirements according to project milestones.
- Ensures all necessary documentation is completed for final design packages including: ECN’s, part and assembly drawings, BOM’s, procurement specification, etc…
- Find basic design flaws, develops possible solutions and tests corrective action to validate fix.
- Leads and participates in product Concept, Design, and Teardown Reviews.
- Demonstrates professional time management skills and follows through on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Builds effective working relationships with other HW engineering team members, other internal organizations, and suppliers.
- Adheres to defined engineering processes and looks for improvements where possible.
- Escalates major project risks to Manager when appropriate.
- Able to objectively reason, weigh options and alternatives, and make solid, well founded, and easily substantiated decisions. Must also know when to escalate decision making to higher levels
- Provides status reports to Manager on weekly basis, which includes project status updates, issues and concerns for entire Hardware Engineering team.
- Performs other tasks as directed by Manager, which may not be defined above.
Special Accomplishment:
- Conceived SATA to PATA HDD Adapter design at NCR to replace the EOL 3.5” PATA HDD.
- Designed EasyPoint Kiosk Cabinet with Table Top Mount design configuration.
- Reverse engineered the 15” MSR Card bracket to fit the 17” 7402 Display at a lower cost.
