    Showa Denko is the pioneer in Japan's chemical industry, it has been offering useful materials and components since the early 1930's when it became the first company in Japan to begin commercial production of aluminum, and of ammonium sulfate using the domestically developed technology. Today, Showa Denko products are in petrochemicals, chemicals, electronics, inorganics, and aluminum.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports Showa Denko K.K. (SDK) engineers as there mechanical CAD solution for the development of Automotive Condensers and Evaporators.
  • Creates initial concept designs in conformance to the requirements specification defined by SDK engineers.
  • Performs with proficiency in the use of CATIA V4 and V5softwares, and in compliance with the industry standard.
  • Applies knowledge of aluminum extrusion design to develop a strong and lighter mechanical component with emphasis on low cost and high quality.
  • Build part and assembly drawings, and engineering BOM’s.
  • Ensured that 3D models and detailed drawings produced by other CAD engineers comply with the industry standard.
  • Find basic design flaws and proposed possible solutions.
  • Participated in packaging design with emphasis on low cost but ensured that proper handling is maintained.
  • Communicate possible issues and concerns to the SDK engineers.
  • Performed other tasks as directed by SDK engineers like shipment of prototypes to there customers.
Special Accomplishment:
  • Redesigned the packaging of Audi’s A8 condenser that allowed Showa Denko to save almost 50% from its original shipping cost.
  • Helped Showa Denko generate a fast and reliable drawing output using the knowledge in CATIA V4 and V5.
